These essential black Mazarin winter over-the-calf socks from the Super-strong range are made of Merino wool.
These over-the-calf socks are part of the strongest range in the world thanks to their exceptional composition. They are ideal for wearing in winter: the Merino wool used to knit them is renowned for its insulating and antibacterial properties, which retain body heat while allowing the feet to breathe.
Why choose the black Super-strong socks?
- For their durability: reinforced with polyamide, these socks have passed the world-renowned Martindale wear test with flying colors, guaranteeing the model's resistance to wear and friction.
- For their fit: the presence of elastane gives the black socks flexibility and ensures an impeccable fit.
- For their softness: the Merino wool used is particularly fluffy. In addition, the socks' medium thickness enhances their soft and comfortable feel.
The Super-strong socks are knitted in Italy in specialized workshops that place particular importance on finishing, with reinforcement at the heel and toe and stitch-by-stitch linking to ensure comfort through the absence of a seam at the toes.
N.B: the wool in the Super-strong socks has been treated to withstand washing at 40°. We recommend air-drying them flat (do not tumble dry).

We offer three sock heights:
1- Mid-Calf Socks
Height: mid-calf socks are long socks that reach just below the knee, right above the calf curve.
Advantages: they provide better hold and fully cover the shin. Their height is suitable to be worn with dress pants.

2- Crew Socks
Height: crew socks are short socks that reach the middle of the calf.
Advantage: they are suitable for people who wear slim-fit pants.

3- No-Show Socks
Height: no-show socks are very short socks. Two cutouts: one for sneakers that reaches below the ankle bone and one for loafers that reaches below the instep.
Advantage: no-show socks are invisible in sneakers or loafers but still protect your feet and shoes.

Black socks: really essential?
Black socks are often presented as an absolute basic… but is it really the best choice? More versatile, navy blue often offers a more elegant alternative, while very dark shades remain easy to match—provided you don’t overlook certain trouser/shoe combinations.
Before automatically opting for black, it’s better to understand its limits and uses: in two minutes, you’ll see that even classics can hold some surprises… with, as a bonus, an unexpected detour into French rock.
