The American cut of our boxer shorts
Mazarin boxer shorts feature a loose fit known as the "American" cut. Unlike a classic construction with a vertical seam placed at the center back, the seams are moved to the sides. This design avoids having a central seam directly against the body when sitting down.
The cut remains intentionally generous to allow plenty of freedom of movement. Two side vents at the bottom of the legs follow the movement of the legs and prevent the fabric from pulling when walking or sitting down.
This type of construction is particularly well suited to the woven fabrics used for our boxer shorts, such as linen, poplin, and cotton oxford.
A waistband designed to stay comfortable
On a pair of boxer shorts, the elastic must provide support without turning a loose fit into compressive underwear.
Mazarin boxer shorts therefore feature a fine elastic band completely covered in fabric. The elastic does not come directly into contact with the skin, helping to limit friction while maintaining effective support at the waist.
It is a discreet finish, but a particularly important one for a garment intended to be worn for long hours.
Different finishes for a close-fitting boxer brief
Boxer briefs follow a different approach. Unlike boxer shorts, they are designed to stay close to the body and move with it. Their construction must therefore provide greater support without creating pressure points.
Mazarin boxer briefs feature a wider elastic waistband with a slightly textured surface that enhances softness against the skin. It also distributes tension more evenly around the waist.
The construction of the seams is just as important. They are made particularly flat so that they remain as discreet as possible once the boxer briefs are worn and help limit friction under clothing.
No sewn-in label against the skin
A label placed inside underwear may seem harmless, but it can quickly become irritating when it rubs against the skin.
No textile label is sewn inside Mazarin boxer briefs. The information usually found on the label is printed directly inside the boxer briefs. This finish removes an additional source of friction without leaving out the information required for the product. It is a discreet detail, but nevertheless essential for comfort.
Careful crotch construction
The crotch is naturally one of the most important areas in the design of boxer briefs.
Mazarin boxer brief models feature a fly with an overlapping opening combined with a pouch construction at the crotch. This design is intended to provide greater comfort and ease while preserving the support expected from close-fitting boxer briefs.
Combined with the suppleness of cotton jersey and a small proportion of elastane in current Mazarin models, this construction allows the boxer briefs to follow the body's movements naturally.
